Garage Floor Epoxy Coating Mt Pleasant
This week Paragon Painting completed a beautiful garage floor in Mt Pleasant SC. Paragon Painting can make any floor look amazing.
The Prep
The garage floor had a previous coating which didn’t meet our customer’s standards. We did not know what was used previously and the floor was too smooth to safely apply our coating. Ideally, a garage floor should feel like 80 grit sandpaper prior to coating. The only way to achieve that profile is to grind.
After grinding the floor there is A LOT of concrete dust which has to be completely swept and vacuumed using a shop vac.
Coating The Floor
After grinding and getting rid of the dust it is time for paint! We used a three step process
- Apply base coating
- Apply final coat with anti skid additive and decorative flakes
- Apply clear coat

As you can see in the above picture we wear shoe covers while in the work area to prevent dust getting tracked onto the floor.
