We recently completed this project in Charleston and wow what a HUGE transformation it was! The cabinets were a cherry color and had been beaten up quite a bit from years of abuse and everyday wear and tear.
First, we removed all the hardware, doors, and drawers. The frames were then cleaned, lightly sanded and primed with Zinsser Bin. Afterwards they were highly sanded again and painted three coats. The doors and drawer fronts were transported to our shop. These doors needed a lot of wood filler and sanding to get them back to where they once were. Afterwards, they were sprayed with Bin then sprayed another two coats with Sherwin Williams Gallery Series. The island really stole the show as you can see in the photos. We also painted the desk chair to match the white cabinets.
