Goose Creek SC House Painters

This week Paragon Painting finished up an interior painting project in Goose Creek SC. The house was only five years old but suffered heavy settling damage. The walls were riddled with nail pops and settling cracks and the trim had wide gaps on all the miter joints.

While we are there we decided to freshen up the exterior entry way by painting the front door and jam.

Picking The Colors

Picking the color in this Goose Creek house wasn’t too difficult. The color originally occupying the space had a lot of yellow undertones which they wanted to eliminate. They eventually narrowed it down two colors and painted samples on the wall to make the final determination. What we ended up with was a nice beige color with gray undertones as opposed to yellow.

Prepping The Walls

A lot of time went into preparing the walls and trim for paint. Every nail pop was refastened and patched with two coats of spackle. They were then sanded smooth using our dustless sanding equipment. All the trim was caulked and properly prepared for paint.

Painting The Trim

We were torn between using Sherwin Williams ProClassic SemiGoose Creek Door Painters Gloss and Sherwin Williams Cashmere Medium Luster on the trim. I brushed out a sample of each for the customer to look and feel the finish each paint provided. They settled on the Cashmere because it had a harder smoother finish.

The doors in the house were sprayed when the house was built and they wanted to keep the sprayed finish and not add brush marks. We don’t like to spray in occupied houses because spraying creates a lot of unwanted dust.

What we did instead was matched the sprayed finish with hand tools. We took off the door knobs and used a 4inch mohair nap mini roller to achieve the desired finish. The doors came out great, you would never know they weren’t sprayed which was exactly what we were going for.

Painting The Walls

We painted all the common areas in the house all the hallways, dining room, living room, kitchen, foyer, and the master bath. First, we spot primed all the spackle spots then applied two coats of Sherwin Williams Cashmere Flat Enamel to all the walls.

The house looks amazing now that we’ve finished and our customer couldn’t be more pleased with the transformation and after all, that’s what it’s all about.
